KARACHI: A local court in Karachi on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of three accused in the theft case of five chickens. The case was registered on the directives of court. The judicial magistrate of south court, while rejecting the police report to declare the case as C-class, ordered the police to ensure the arrest of the involved persons. Waseem alias Rana, Nasir and Atif were said to be accused persons in the case. The complainant, William Gill, a tuck shop owner at Azam Town said, during last two months, his five cocks were stolen. William also crippled with one of his leg said that he had registered the case against the accused persons initially at Mahmoodabad Police Station. Later, he went to the court of law for fair justice and recovery of stolen chickens and arrest of persons involved in the theft. While talking to Daily Times, Gill said that when he asked about his missing cocks from the accused persons they threatened him of dire consequences. He said keeping cocks was his love for pet birds besides the lovers of cocks also used to buy these birds from him, as they are kept with care and love. He said these are of special value cocks as they are used for cockfight. “The stolen birds are of Jaway and Lal pedigree and worth around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per bird”, he added. Gill said he has now left with two birds and now he has lost his passion as well as his business.
