Lahore: Under the stewardship of Minister Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and on the instructions of Captain (R) Usman – Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning Unit (PSPU) conducted a Training Session on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for visiting BHUs & RHCs, Workplace Ethics, Conflict Resolution and Effective Communication Skills for Monitoring & Evaluation Assistants (MEAs) of Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department from all over Punjab. Total of 166 MEAs will be trained in this 3 days Training workshop. Dr. Fareeha Irfan – Public Health Specialist at PSPU in her session on Workplace Conflicts and its Resolution highlighted the problems faced by MEAs and how can they avoid and deal with workplace and sexual harassment while performing their duties efficiently. Ali Mazhar – Communication Specialist at PSPU conducted an interactive session with MEAs and trained them in different ways and means to polish and enhance their communication skills effectively in their regular work environment. Fakhir Abbas – Data Analyst and Focal Person for MEAs at PSPU conducted a brief evaluation test on SOPs and also shared the revised SOPs with MEAs along with the Provincial Monitoring Officers (PMOs). Dr Shagufta Zareen – Program Director PSPU while addressing the MEAs emphasized on full compliance of the SOPs without compromising on the quality of monitoring & evaluation processes. She also highlighted the areas in which MEAs need improvement by adopting a professional approach and technical excellence.
