Like elsewhere in the country, a protest rally against forcibly seizing Jammu and Kashmir was held here in main Bazaar Landi Kotal, sub-division of district Khyber on Tuesday. It is to be mentioned here that on October 27, 1947, Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir contrary to the will of the Kashmiri people and the government of Pakistan announced to commemorate it, black day for the people of Kashmir. Scores of tribesmen holding banners inscribed with slogans like “Salute to courage of Kashmiri,” “Go India back” etc. The protestors while chanted slogans in favor of Kashmiri people, marched to in front of Landi Kotal press club where the rally converted into a public gathering. Addressing on the occasion Assistant Commissioner, Muhammad Imran Jousafzai, president Anjuman-e-Tajran Landi Kotal Bazaar Haji Jafar,Landi Kotal welfare organization chief Akhtar Ali and others categorically condemned India for unlawful and by force possession of Kashmir and said through the unfair act it could subjugate the Kashmiries. They called upon the Muslim Ummah and the United Nation to break their silence over the atrocities of the Indian forces and raise voice for the right of the people of Kashmir. The people of Pakistan will continue their moral support to the people of Kashmir till they get freedom from Indian forces. They dispersed peacefully after offering prayers for the freedom of Kashmir.
