GCU Lahore announces reserve seats for transgenders in all departments

One seat has been allotted for transgenders in each department of Government College University Lahore while transgenders who get good marks can also get admission on open merit.

Prof. Asghar Zaidi, Vice-Chancellor, Government College University (GCU), Lahore, announced reserved seats for transgenders for admission to the university.

According to the GCU Vice-Chancellor, the purpose of allocating seats for eunuchs is to enable this segment of our community to have access to higher education so that transgender people can be accepted as lawyers, doctors, engineers, bureaucrats and politicians in society.

He stressed that special seats were also needed in schools and other higher education institutions for this.

According to Professor Asghar Zaidi, this is the first time that special seats have been created for transgender people at the university.
