National Locusts Control Centre(NLCC) claimed that as for Thursday no Locust is present in Punjab, Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Active breeding is taking place in Tharparkar and some areas of Cholistan. The population developing in Nangarparkar is likely to fledge by mid-August. Anti-Locust Survey and Control Operations are in progress, with the presence of Locust is found only in two district’s area, including Tharparkar and Karachi. In Balochistan, 4703.25 sq km has been treated with the help of 232 teams, 112 vehicles and 1288 manpower. In Punjab, 4589.60 sq km has been treated with the help of 539 teams,388 vehicles and 2830 manpower. In Khyber Pukhtunkhwa 625.35 sq km has been treated with the help of 80 teams,106 vehicles, and 847 manpower. In Sindh.1016.2 sq km has been treated with the help of 242 teams,174 vehicles, and 1177 manpower. Department of Plant Protection (DPP) are using 4 beaver aircraft at Sukkur, Tharparkar, Lahore, Islamkot and Karachi for aerial spary.
