PCB announces 16-member squad for first England Test

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket selectors on Tuesday narrowed down their 20-member squad to 16 players for the first Test against England starting from August 5 at Old Trafford, Manchester. The selectors have left out all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and pacers Usman Shinwari, Wahab Riaz and Imran Khan from the 20 players shortlisted earlier. The final two Tests will be played at the Rose Bowl from Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 21.

Pakistan’s squad for the first England Test:

Azhar Ali (c), Babar Azam, Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Imamul Haq, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah.
