The proposed criminalisation of match-fixing in Pakistan has inched closer to fruition as MNA Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan confirmed that a bill in this regard has been submitted in the National Assembly. If the bill is accepted, this will indeed be a huge step towards better reforms and transparency in sports. People on social media are happy and want the bill to move forward till implementation. Over the past few years, there has been a lot of complaints including the fact that there is no merit defined for newcomers in sports. Any new player is accepted on the basis of his strong connections or reference, demotivating the ones who are disadvantaged.
