Karachi mayor will have to delegate powers to his deputy: Agha Siraj

LARKANA: Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani says Mayor of Karachi, Wasim Akhtar will have to delegate his powers to deputy mayor till he is in jail as “there is no law to open his office in prison”. Talking to reporters at Garhi Khuda Bux near here on Tuesday, he said since MQM offices were constructed on government plots they were being demolished. “MQM is not yet minus Altaf because Farooq Sattar has no power. It seems all these tricks are being adopted to save themselves for the time being”. Agha Siraj said banning MQM is the subject of Federal government and province has nothing to do but “it seems that Center is not yet serious to decide the matter.” He said LG elected representative have taken over all over Sindh and hoped they will deliver at doorstep of common man, resolve basic issues of people of each & every village, town and city.
