LAHORE: Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Karrar Hussain stated that since the induction of Dolphin Force (DF), street crime has decreased by 50 percent.
Exclusively talking with Daily Times on Wednesday, he stated that DF was fully active in the city and was playing a key role in curbing crimes, including one-wheeling. He said that DF’s progress in the last five months was satisfactory, as it arrested 47 street criminals and 180 one-wheelers. On a query, he said that the force covered approximately 50 percent area of the city where the ratio of crime was higher. In this perspective, DF covered 80 percent criminal infested areas, he informed this scribe.
Hussain said that over 2,400 additional personnel would be inducted in DF by August 2017 for its efficiency in curbing crimes, adding that patrolling times have also been altered with the force being duly available for the security of the general public.
Latest report has revealed that DF has checked 212,000 cars, 211,000 bikes and 190,000 allegedly suspicious people during patrolling period spanning over five months.
