CM holds meeting with MNAs, MPAs of Lahore and Sahiwal divisionsChief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar met with MNAs and MPAs of Lahore and Sahiwal divisions at 90-SQA on Wednesday to discuss their constituency related problems. The parliamentarians presented their proposals about new schemes.

The chief minister announced to set up a hundred new schools in Lahore by April to give admission to 2.5 lacs out-of-school children. This program will also be expanded to other divisions, he added. Similarly, a mega-development package will be announced for Lahore city. The mother & child hospital will be established in Ganga Ram Hospital with an amount of Rs7 billion in two years and PIC-II project will also be started in Lahore along with the establishment of an institute of blood diseases. He told that Firdous Market’s underpass project has been approved and permission has been granted to construct multi-storey buildings in the city. Work on Lahore Ring Road southern loop-III project is being started soon and work is also being done on the project of developing a new city at the bank of River Ravi, he added. The scope of LDA was extended to other districts of Lahore division at one’s whims but it would be limited to Lahore city only, he added.

The chief minister regretted that cleanliness arrangement in Lahore are not proper and directed to adopt emergent steps. He assured to solve the issue of clean drinking water in the Lahore division adding that sewerage and cleanliness systems will also be improved. He assured repair and maintenance of roads in Lahore division. The arazi center in Warburton will be made functional in two weeks. He directed to submit a report about shifting of truck stands and grain market outside the Sheikhupura city adding that Government Postgraduate Degree College Sheikhupura will be granted the status of university degrees’ issuance. Similarly, problems of the people living in Lahore will be solved on a priority basis. The chief minister made it clear that violation of one-dish and time will not be tolerated in marriage ceremonies and directed to take indiscriminate action against violators as the law is equal for all.

The chief minister expressed strong indignation over delay in the establishment of the grain market in Pakpattan and made it clear that those who used delaying tactics will have to face the music. Complaints have already been received about the relevant wing of agriculture department and those who kept pending official orders have no right to stay on their posts, he added. The chief minister also directed indiscriminate action against drug-peddlers by police and told that recruitment has been allowed to fill the gap of 16 thousand police officials. New vehicles will be purchased for police, he added. He told that linkage of Sahiwal and Chichawatni with motorway will be reviewed and work on Sahiwal bypass will be completed by the next financial year and feasibility study will also be conducted for setting up children hospital there. Steps will also be taken for setting up a new vegetable market in Okara. The chief minister directed to remove MS of Okara hospital on public complaints.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar in his message on the completion of one year “Surprise Day” for falling down two Indian fighter aircrafts said that Pakistani government is celebrating 27th February as a historic day and we pay tributes to the valour and bravery of Pakistan Airforce eagles. I salute PAF heroes for safeguarding aerial boundaries of our dear homeland, concluded Usman Buzdar.

Separately, Ambassador of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed strengthening of relations and other matters of mutual interest.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy brotherly relations and it’s the right time to promote these relations on durable lines. Pakistan is the most attractive tourist-destination because of its rich cultural diversity, he added. The province of Punjab enjoys the unique position as tourist attractions are scattered in the vast expanse of Thal, Cholistan, Pothohar and other areas, he further added. He emphasized that cultural heritage of the Punjab province is centuries-old and very unique in the whole world. The Punjab government has also introduced different tourism promotion projects and cooperation will also be expanded with Tajikistan in agriculture and other sectors. Similarly, people-to-people contacts will be enhanced and cultural exchange will give a new dimension to the bilateral relations. The exchange of trade delegations will further promote economic relations, added Usman Buzdar.

Ismatullo Nasredin said cultural and historic heritage of Lahore is unique and expressed the desired to promote trade and economic cooperation with the province of Punjab. Tajikistan’s Honorary Consul General Nazir Ahmed Paracha, Chairman P&D, CEO PBIT and others were also present.

Also, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of a youth due to attack of lions.
