Under clean and green Pakistan campaign, Punjab Police inaugurates spring plantationInspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that plantation campaign is the need of time to protect environment, reduce in pollution and to protect future of nation and country therefore under clean and green Pakistan campaign, plantations have been started in police lines, unit headquarters and other police offices across the province so that environment may be restored by reducing environmental pollution.

He further said that all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province have been directed that every rank of Police officers and officials should participate in this plantation campaign during the spring season and plant environmental conducive saplings in their relevant districts in excess amount because being a responsible citizen of the society, protection of natural climate and environment is our mutual responsibility. He further said that Punjab Police is well aware of social services besides protection of lives and wealth of people and plantation of thousands of saplings by Punjab Police will considerably reduce the environmental pollution. These views were expressed by him when he was directing to officers during launching plantation campaign at central police office.

On this occasion, Addl IG PHP Captain Retired Zafar Iqbal Awan and AIG Admin Anwar Khaetran also planted saplings whereas Addl IG IAB Azhar Hameed Khokhar, Addl IG Welfare and Finance Rao Sardar, Addl IG Logistics and Procurement Ghulam Rasool Zahid and DIG Operations Sohail Akhtar Sukhera along with other senior officers were present at this occasion.

While discussing with officers, IG Punjab said that all officers should also inspect steps taken regarding plantation campaign during their visits in fields and also keep a constant coordination with other institutions working for environmental protection. He further said deficiency of plants and trees is causing environmental pollution and also different issues are also arising out of increase in temperature so the campaign of plantation should be given full attention by planting saplings in all offices under police supervision during the spring season. Moreover, He added that plantation is not only an option but also compulsory for survival of future of new generation and environment as well and it is here worth mentioning that for this purpose, both individual and collective efforts should be continued in the future.
