As 2019 is near its end, Google has released its official trending list for most searched people in Pakistan. The Google Trends Year in Search 2019 is based on search terms that had the highest searches in 2019 as compared to the previous year. The most searched people of Pakistan in 2019 were: NAIMAL KHAWAR KHAN — former actress and visual artist Naimal Khawar Khan, has managed to come out as the most trending Pakistani person in 2019. She got hitched to the former actor Hamza Ali Abbasi in August. She was highlighted most when she bid farewell to the showbiz industry following her wedding. Khan said she understood the celebrities, who are in the spotlight most of the time, often face a lot of people commenting on their personal lives as well as their politics and viewpoints. “I left acting 9 months ago and the decision was entirely mine,” said Naimal. WAHEED MURAD — Waheed Murad also known as the ‘Chocolate Hero’ comes in second on the top most searched in list. He rose to the second number in the country after the search engine honoured him with a Google Doodle on his 81st birthday. Pakistani cinema is indebted to the great film actor, producer and script writer who charmed the cinema-goers with his expressions, personality, voice and unusual acting talent. In 2010, 27 years after his death, the Pakistani government awarded him with ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’, the third-highest honour and civilian award by the State of Pakistan, given in the fields of literature, arts, sports, medicine, or science. BABAR AZAM — the most loved and consistent player of today’s Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, without any surprise came third. 2019 totally belonged to the Pakistani athlete who always stood up for his country in dire cricket situations. The Pakistani run machine started the year with some delightful stroke play against South Africa and Dale Steyn, and also did reasonably well in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 but truly emerged as a superstar during the World Cup 2019 in summer in English when he smashed several batting records. Babar Azam remains the world’s top-ranked T20I batsman – a feat for which he was rewarded with the format’s national captaincy. ASIF ALI — having Asif Ali on fourth number is quite shocking as he might had a remarkable PSL 2019 but went on to disappoint for the rest of the year. He was added into the cricket teams for his ability to hit it out-of-the-park but he neither hit big nor small for the rest of the year. Perhaps, the promise of Pakistan unearthing a much-needed slogger made cricket fans search for him.
