The 3rd Punjab Golf Association (PGA) Women’s Golf Championship came to a booming conclusion after three rounds of fervid and ardent golf for the women competitors falling in Category ‘A’ and handicap range 0-13 at the enticing PAF Skyview Golf Course here Monday. Undefeated and jubilant one turned out to be the delicate and relatively tiny one Hamna Amjad of PAF Skyview who won the 3rd PGA title with a three rounds aggregate score of 240. Her final day round of gross 80 fetched hera remarkable victory. And all through the 18 holes golfing, noticeable was the flair in her playing ability and the hitting was reliable indeed with hardly any inaccurate shots. Dr Asma Shami, Head of Women’s Golf, was delighted with her performance and stated that through such competitions the PGA had emerged as a trend setter in the field of women’s golf in Pakistan. The runner-up in the gross section was Suneya Osama of PSGCC with an aggregate gross score of gross 264. Ghazala Yasmin of Garrison Club came third and this position she shared with Zaib un Nisa of Royal Palm. Their aggregate score was 234. In the race for top positions in handicap category 14 to 24, the gross winner was Iman Ali Shah. This contest was fought out over 36 holes and Iman’s winning score was gross 150. She displayed noteworthy hitting ability and more impressive was her command over the short game around the greens, where nerves fail many golfers of ability. The second gross position in handicap category 14-24 went to Aisha Faizan (MGGC) and her score for two rounds was 187. The third position holder in the gross section was Zeenat Ayesha (ISGC), the score being gross 191. Net section winner was Momina Tarrar of Royal Palm while second net went to Shahnaz Moin (PSGCC) and Abeeda Saleem of Defence Raya got the third net prize.
