KARACHI: The political leadership has suggested the central government to adopt political and democratic measures to overcome the crisis and have apprehended that the current situation is not favorable for the nation and country. They were of the view that the government would be held responsible if democracy was derailed and if a “Third power” moves in as a result of Islamabd lockdown. Pakistan peoples’ Party Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while condemning the baton charge upon them and the arrest of PTI workers, has said that this act showed the fear of government. In a statement he said that sit in or protest is the fundamental right of any political party and to restore law and order is responsibility of the government. Leader of Awami National Party Asfand yar Wali khan was of the view that they would support democracy not an individual. In his statement Khan said that Imran Khan has no Parallel to him in using abusive language. Amir Jamait-i-Islami Sindh chapter Miraj ul Huda Siddiqui told Dialy times that in fact the country cannot afford uncertainty like Islamabad lockdown, but if third power steps in; the government would be held responsible. He said if the Prime Minister is sincere to the country, he should present him self for accountability but he has been denying it because of his ego adding that Pakistan would never thrive unless ruthless accountability is not restored. Amin Ul Haq, of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement said that each political party should have freedom of political activities but we will condemn such position taken if by which a third power being invited. Talking with Daily Times he said that political parties should avoid unlawful acts in the cover of political obligation. He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is going to be completed and the country is witnessing a new phase of history, so all the stakeholders of the country should avoid any political unrest. Nusrat Sahar Abbasi MPA of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) said that the Prime Minister is under allegations, what is wrong with producing him self for accountability. The politicians, while expressing their views were optimistic about the sustainability of political system and suggested to the government to take political steps for the settle the matters. Chairman Pak Sarzamin Party Mustafa Kamal said that torture upon PTI workers is against the democratic norms and that this action could lead to a political storm in the country.
