Ali Zafar tweaks John Lennon’s 1970s iconic song as per contemporary trends

Actor and singer Ali Zafar has tweaked John Lennon’s 1970s iconic song “Imagine” as per contemporary trends and people are loving it.

It is dedicated to the growing obsession of this generation with social media.

The lyrics of the tweaked version of “Imagine” are,

“Imagine there’s no Twitter,

It’s easy if you try,

No place to fight for glory,

No Likes if someone dies,

Imagine all the people living life in peace,

Imagine there’s no cellphone,

It isn’t hard to do,

Nothing to hold or look at while your parents talk to you,

Imagine all the people living in the real world.”

Posting the video, Ali Zafar said, “‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, one of my favourite songs, tweaked a bit as per contemporary social media trends. Hope you like it @johnlennon wherever you are. Yo! don’t delete my account after this @Twitter #freespeech #twitter #instagram #socialmedia #JohnLennon”

Social media sang praises for Zafar for advancing the thoughts of legendary singer and songwriter John Lennon in the light of contemporary trends.

Separately, a 12-year-old-singer from Balochistan, Urooj Fatima, has expressed her wish to sing a duet with Zafar, which he graciously accepted.

Urooj Fatima, who is UNICEF’s adolescent champion, came to meet Ali Zafar at his residence along with other UNICEF adolescent champions, where she requested him for singing a duet with her.

“Ali Zafar is my role model and it is my dream to sing a duet with him,” Fatima said while performing Sufi and Balochi songs with Zafar during the meeting.

Zafar responded very positively to the adolescent’s request, saying, “Urooj is Masha Allah a very talented singer who sings in four languages and also plays guitar and I am very much inspired by her passion for music.”

He promised Fatima that they would record a duet song together very soon.

Ali Zafar also held a detailed meeting with other UNICEF adolescent champions including cyber kid Muhammad Huziar Awan and discussed with them their dreams and goals in life.

Ali Zafar said that parents should support their children, both girls and boys, to follow their dreams and passion. He promised that he would record a duet with her very soon.

The “Channo” singer lauded the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund’s (UNICEF) adolescent campaign to empower the youth of Pakistan.
