Efforts afoot to solve problems of all cities, villages: CM

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was putting in place effective measures to solve problems of every city and village in the province, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Sunday.

“We will leave no stone unturned to fulfill needs of the people because the PTI believes in equal progress and prosperity of all areas across the province. Every year, two phases of Naya Pakistan Manzalain Assan will be completed,” he said while talking to a delegation of Members of National Assembly (MNAs) at his office.

Stretches of 1,500 kilometers long rural roads would be repaired and constructed by December this year, while the Naya Pakistan Manzalain Assan Project will continue for the next five years to provide transport facilities to masses. In the first phase, Rs 15 billion would be spent on the repair and construction of roads across rural areas in Punjab, Buzdar said.

The second phase of “Naya Pakistan Manzalain Assan” will be launched in January 2020. Rural economy will benefit greatly with the construction of carpeted roads in the rural areas of Punjab, he said. People will not only be facilitated but economic activities will also enhance with the construction of carpeted roads in rural areas, Buzdar added. With the completion of “Naya Pakistan Manzalain Assan” programme easy access from fields to the market will be made possible. Proposals of assembly members will be given preference with regard to development projects, the CM said. Assembly members should play a vigorous and effective role for the eradication of dengue during its campaign, he stressed. We are advancing forward in the anti-dengue campaign by considering it a noble mission. People from all segments of society will have to play their proactive role in order to overcome and eliminate this epidemic, Buzdar concluded.

Also, the Punjab CM while taking notice of the incident of the death of a citizen owing to alleged police torture at Nawab Town has also sought a report from the inspector general police (IGP). Buzdar ordered to hold an impartial investigation of the incident. He further directed that legal proceedings should be initiated against those held responsible after ascertaining the reasons behind the death of the citizen. He stressed that provision of justice will be ensured to family members of the deceased citizen.

Meanwhile, Buzdar felicitated Prime Minister Imran Khan on undertaking a successful United States of America (USA) visit and delivering a fiery speech in United Nations General Assembly. Every Pakistani felt proud and elevated due to the successful visit of the PM, Buzdar said. A new ray of hope has been infused in the hearts and minds of the oppressed Kashmiris owing to the historic speech delivered by the PM.

The PM’s speech has been declared very impressive in the whole world including Pakistan, he added. PM Imran Khan put up the Kashmir case by becoming the ambassador of the innocent Kashmiri people, said Buzdar. The PM exposed the attire of so-called democracy from the face of fascist Modi Sarkar, he stressed. The world community is now paying its attention towards Kashmir dispute. PM Imran Khan has effectively highlighted and portrayed the Kashmir cause across the globe, added the CM. The Indian government now cannot turn a blind eye towards this issue. The world community will have to grant right to self-determination to the unarmed and oppressed Kashmiris, said Buzdar.
