Sir: The US President Trump announced the negotiation with Taliban and suddenly cancelled it. The sudden and worrisome announcement came after Taliban took the responsibility of a blast in Afghanistan which had led to the death of one US troop, ten civilians and injuries of some others. The perpetual war of eighteen-year has affected the peace and prosperity of Afghan nation in particular and the regional countries in general.
If it is a war of political domination and military intelligence interests to counter regional countries like Pakistan, Iran or China, then US has won it long before, be its troops killed and much more funds wasted or invested. But the Taliban, with continuing its attacks during the peace process, perhaps looks more pugnacious, too.
However, what that needed now to end the perpetual war is to diplomatically leave no stone unturned in engaging of both the counterparts, be the role played by South Asian big players whose peace and progress have been affected, or by any other actor.
