QUETTA: Around 202 Baloch separatists belonging to militant organisations Monday surrendered to provincial government authorities and pledged their allegiance to the country.

Those who surrendered handed their weapons over to the government authorities here at the Chief Minister Secretariat and vowed to remain loyal to the country during rest of their life. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri gave them cash prizes and announced that the government would provide financial support to their families. The chief minister said that so-called nationalists leaders abroad were enjoying their lives and had pushed the Baloch youth here to take up arms against the state.

“The so-called nationalist leaders had their hidden agenda of making people fight their brothers in Balochistan in the name of freedom fight,” said the chief minister, adding “we would continue our efforts to bring durable peace to Balochistan”.

Speaking on the occasion, Southern Command Commander Lieutenant General Aamir Riaz said, “Some organisations are involved in acts of terrorism in Balochistan but nefarious designs of enemies will be foiled at any cost.” He added, “People of Balochistan love their country and they are loyal to their country like that people of other federating units.”

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Nawab Changez Khan Marri, Sardar Aslam Bezenjo, Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Mir Mujibur Rehman, Muhammad Hasni, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel, Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattha, Frontier Corps Inspector General Major General Sher Afgun, Balochistan IGP Ahsan Mehboob and senior civil and military officials were also present among others.
