UPPER DIR: The Awami National Party (ANP)’s Provincial President, Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti, came hard on the federal government saying the federal government was not giving “due rights” to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He was addressing a workers’ convention of the ANP, PK 91’s workers of Upper Dir chapter in Darora. Provincial deputy president, Javid Yousifzai, former MPA, Shazia Aurangzeb, ANP Upper Dir president, Raja Ameer Zaman, former district general secretary, Badshah Muhammad and a large number of party workers were also present at the gathering. Hoti said that the federal government had changed the initial map route of the CPEC and the project was diverted to Punjab from KP. He said that the ANP would never accept any other plan of the CEPC route except the initial survey, the western route. He said that the aim of Imran Khan and the PTI’s politics was to get the chair of the prime minister and did not aim at serving the Pakhtoons. He said that due to the failure of the provincial government treasure of the KP had become empty. He said that no one could hoist the national flag in Swat out of fear of the Taliban during the Taliban insurgency and they wanted to establish their own state there in Swat, adding that after lots of sacrifices of the ANP leaders and workers they had restored a government writ in Swat. The ANP president criticised Imran Khan saying that he did give a protest against the federal government on depriving KP in CEPC adding that if he was loyal with Pakhtoons and KP he would have done it. He said that the Jamaat-e-Islami got votes in the name of Islam. However, after election, its members did not talk of Islam in the assembly sessions. He said that now the people of KP would not further be deceived by the slogan of “change” and “Islam”. Hoti said that the PTI ended its protest of block the Islamabad after “smelling a rat” that it would be a flop show. He said that the PTI tigers were terrified from tear gas and the ANP workers had presented their chests to protest against terrorism. Hoti said that the Khyber bank scandal facts should be brought in front of the people of the province. He said that the ANP would again form a government in KP in the 2018 general elections. He said that they would take part in the next election on their performance basis because they had done lots of developmental projects during their previous tenure and established many universities, colleges and other educational institutions in the province. He said that apart from these measures, his provincial government had established industries, and had also fought against the menace of terrorism.
