ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to start scrutinizing the process of declaration of assets filed by parliamentarians from December 01 and it has made all the necessary preparations on this count. The political fiancé wing of ECP will carry out scrutiny work in collaboration with FBR, Auditor General, provincial revenue department, FIA and other institutions. Additional secretary PEC will give detailed briefing in the meeting taking place today with reference to scrutiny of assets. ECP sources said that scrutiny process in respect of assets of members of National Assembly, provincial assemblies and Senate will commence from December, 01 and approval in this regard will be accorded in ECP meeting to be held on Friday (today) in election commission Islamabad office. Additional secretary Election Commission will give detailed briefing on the modus operandi of scrutinising the assets. According to sources, a proforma has been worked out in connection with scrutiny of assets. Sources said the political finance wing and confidential wing of ECP will be merged and will be given the shape of a full-fledged directorate. This directorate will work directly under the election commission.
