ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that corruption is the core issue of the country which needs to be addressed by appointing eligible people as heads of institutions. “I will not give up over the matter,” he told reporters at his Bani Gala residence. He added that after the top court’s verdict the party would devise strategy for the next general elections. During the meeting, PTI leaders Shafqat Mehmood, Jehangir Tareen, Naeemul Haq and Faisal Chaudhry were also present. Kaptaan said that he has brought new evidence from the UK, adding that his party is not on trial rather the entire judicial system is on trial. The PTI supremo said the evidence and testimonies of the Sharifs are marred with lacunas, adding that his legal team is prepared to fight the legal battle with new evidence. He also said that his party would accept the court’s decision over Panamagate case. “Morally, the Sharifs should fight their battle on their own but entire state machinery as well as prime minister’s party is defending the family,” the skipper said, adding that the institutions are being brought to the edge for the protection of a single person.
