ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has so far been successful in securing political victory over the prime minister in Panamagate case, claimed PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

“I will not give up on the matter,” he asserted during a press meeting at his residence in Bani Gala on Saturday. Khan emphasised that as soon as the verdict is out on Panamagate, his party would devise strategies on parallel grounds for next general elections and would give a tough competition to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The former cricketer mentioned that he recently fetched some substantial evidences from UK, which he said he would strategically reveal at a later stage. He maintained that the entire judicial system is on trial.

The PTI chief denounced the evidences and testimonies presented by the Sharif Family, saying that his legal team is prepared to fight the legal battle with new evidences.

However, conforming to the system, Khan said that his party would accept the Supreme Court’s decision over Panama leaks case regardless of the outcome.

“The Sharif family should fight their battle on their own instead of hijacking the government institutions and using state machinery,” Khan said, adding that sensitive institutions have been brought to the edge only to defend a single person.

Khan pointed towards the structural bias of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which stands as a wall, defending the “already proven corrupt” prime minister.

He alleged that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was involved in money laundering but institution like FBR or State Bank of Pakistan could not take action against him, as he was given the Finance Ministry, which heads these institutions.

Commenting over the petitions of PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi against him and his party leader Jahangir Tareen, Imran said that he has already disclosed his financial records but the FBR, Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the “politically maneuvered” Punjab Police are trying their best against him and his party.

The PTI chairman deplored that Pakistan’s public debt has increased form Rs 6 trillion to Rs 23 trillion during the last three years which evidently displays the corruption in play by the country rulers.

PTI leaders Shafqat Mehmood, Jehangir Khan Tareen, Naeemul Haq and advocate Faisal Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.
