200 to 250 PPP activists took out a rally from Kennedy Market here on Monday after the news broke that their co-chairman Asif Zardari has been arrested from Zardari House, Islamabad, in mega money laundering case. Some of the workers resorted to aerial firing due to which panic gripped the market and shopkeepers were forced to close down their shops. They marched towards Jinnah Bagh roundabout where they held protest and staged sit-in closing all types of vehicular traffic which caused tremendous hardships for the commuters. They burnt tyres and shouted slogans. They were led by Larkana district president Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Tariq Siyal, Noordin Abro, Amin Shaikh and youth wing office bearers. They alleged that federal government is targeting opposition leaders which we condemn in strongest possible words. They further said the massive price hike has broken the back of the common men. They warned federal government & NAB Chairman to release Zardari or else millions of jiyalas will come out for protest. In Naundero as well few workers came out in the evening and forced shopkeepers to close down their business after sunset and resorted to aerial firing due to which shopkeepers were forced to close down their business. They held a small protest at Allahwalla roundabout, burnt tyres and also chanted slogans against the arrest of their party’s leader. They were led by municipality chairman Allah Dino Bhutto, Khalid Memon, Nisar Bhutto and others. They said that large number of party workers have faced jails and are ready to go to prisons again. They demanded Zardari’s release.
