PESHAWAR: Around 1,350 temporarily displaced families of North Waziristan will return to their homes on Monday (today).The government directed the “Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs)” on Sunday to shift homes after replacement of peace in North Waziristan Agency, it was said in a statement issued by the FATA Secretariat.The statement said that the return of “Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs)” will prevail in North Waziristan Tehsil Mir Ali.It further said that peace has been restored in the region and basic facilities of livelihood had been provided to the families.The statement added that the compensation had been given for reconstruction of partially and wholly destroyed houses and an amount of Rs35, 000 would be hand over to each family on the scene of return.The statement also stated that 1350 displaced families of Patsai-Killi area, situated in North Waziristan, will return to their native homes within four days. After this the return of other families will start to occur and so on the TDPs would return in form of combined families one after the other without causing trouble and panic for the local administration and law enforcement agencies.According to the political administration of North Waziristan, about 63,000 families had so far returned to their homes in North Waziristan Agency. In a statement issued by the political administration of North Waziristan it was stated that the authorities had already told the returning families for reaching the repatriation point in Bannu.The statement added that after re-gathering in Bannu further steps would be taken and a certain amount of money along with food ration would be distributed among the returning people.The provided food will work for a period of six months. After getting the package they will be directed to enter North Waziristan on specific routes.The political administration of North Waziristan has specified days for each family to reach at a particular place on due time.Tribal students: Students of all tribal agencies and Frontier Regions (FRs) on Sunday held a protest camp against DCO Peshawar for arresting the FATA Students Organization (FSO) President Shaukat Aziz.The protest camp was held at Shah Suri Road outside the Peshawar Press Club, wherein banners and placards were displayed, inscribed with ant-Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) slogans. The participants of the camp shouted against the DCO Peshawar and the FCR.They were led by Abdur Rahim Orakzai, General Secretary, FSO, Samreen, General Secretary, FSO female wing, Haleem Orakzai, Nisar Mohmand and Nausheen Jamal. Talking to this scribe they said that FSO President Shukat Aziz had shouted against the FCR in an event at a local hotel and the DCO Peshawar charged him (Aziz) under 3MPO and put him behind bars. “We will hold a protest demonstration on Monday (today) in front of the Governor’s House Peshawar if the FSO president is not released on an earlier base” they threatened. They added that their protest would continue until release of FSO president.
