Speakers vow to raise voice against terrorism

PESHAWAR: Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS), the speakers at a seminar vowed that they would raise voice against the terrorism and extremism aimed at creating peaceful environment in the country.

The seminar was organized at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday under the auspices of Pakistan Awami Teherek (PAT) youth wing district Peshawar in memory of 2ndanniversary of tragic terror attack of APS.

Those who spoke on the occasion were Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, general secretary PAT, Mazhar Mehmood Alvi, PAT youth wing president, Farah Naaz, women wing nazima, Khalid Mehmood Durrani, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PAT president, Jamshed Ali Khan, PAT district Peshawar president, Dr Shabir Gillani, ameer, Minhaj-ul-Quran, Peshawar, Amjad Ali Shah and others.

Ganadapur said that until terrorism would root out peace could not be restored in the country. He added that through a conspiracy all the Pakistani nation divided into various sects and sectarianism environment developed. “We want equal rights and independence for every individual and society. Every religion, culture and language is respectable. Islam has no connection with terrorism”, he said. He further said that youth had vital role in real change in the current system and revolution in Pakistan. He directed the young generation of the country to continue their struggle for the noble cause of the country.

The speakers presented a list of their demands including the maintenance of operation Zarb-e-Azab until the complete elimination of terrorism, legislation against toppling extremism. They also demanded reforms in the religious seminaries system and syllabus and audit of foreign aid to personalities, parties and Madaris. They further said that there should be complete ban on those speeches and writing which create hate and extremism. The participants at the end of the event offered prayers to souls of the APS martyred and showed solidarity with the martyred parents.

Earlier a cycle rally with the title “Zarb-e-Amn” which was arranged by the PAT youth wing and took from Karachi on last November20 and reached to Peshawar Press Club on Saturday. Warm welcome presented to the participants of the cycle rally on that occasion. The purpose of the rally was to protect the young generation from extremism and terrorism.
