At least eight people, including one woman and three children, were killed on Sunday after two cars collided at the Larkana-Shikarpur Indus Highway. Five people were also injured in the collision that occurred near Bhayo Waah due to over-speeding. Karan Sharif Police Station said that the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Talking to Daily Times, police official Imran Deyo said eight people, including Haji Ghulab Bahrani, Dilmurad, Fahad, Zeenat, Shakeelan, Aneela, Yasir and Nimano Samoon, had died on the spot in the road accident. “The family was coming from Karachi in a car (BKV-302) and heading towards their village Zaingipur Khosa in Jacobabad district. Five other passengers, including Papan Samoon, Abdul Aziz Sundrani, Kamran Samoon, Janib Chandio and Laila sustained serious injuries. They were traveling in the second vehicle (AJW-424),” the policeman said. Rescue teams shifted the injured and bodies to the Shikarpur District Headquarters Hospital. The injured were later referred to Larkana Chandka Medical College Hospital for further medical treatment owing to their precarious condition. The bodies were handed over to their heirs after conducting necessary medical legal formalities. On the occasion, people of Shikarpur protested against the lack of basic healthcare facilities at the Shikarpur DHQ Hospital, where the injured had initially been taken.
