North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) has asked Sindh Governor and Chief Minister to play their role to resolve power load-shedding issue in industrial areas during the sacred month of Ramadan on priority bases. NKATI made this demand at an emergency meeting of the association presided over by its patron-in-chief Moiz Khan and acting president Faisal Shabo. The meeting was held to discuss the issue of power load-shedding which has adversely affected industrial units in North Karachi industrial area. The K-Electric load-shedding in the industrial areas of Karachi has created enormous problems for the industries and in particular hampering the timely fulfillment of their export order commitment because it impedes the smooth functioning of industrial units. The industrialists demanded of the K-Electric authorities to immediately restore power to all the industrial areas of Karachi as the load-shedding would cause irreparable loss to the economy and many industries would be closed down. NKATI particularly expressed disappointment over load-shedding in North Karachi industrial estate.
