KHYBER AGENCY: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Landi Kotal chapter staged a protest demonstration against atrocities unleashed on Muslims of Syria and Burma on Sunday. The local leadership of the party besides a large number of political workers and tribesmen participated in the rally held in Bacha Khan Chowk, main Landi Kotal bazaar. Addressing on the occasion, the General Sectary JUI-F, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Mufti Ijaz said that the wounds of Afghanistan and Iraq were still unhealed that the Western powers initiated new fields of cruelties in Burma and Aleppo, city of Syria where the Muslims were subjected to the worst of brutalities. Being lonely the atomic power of the Muslim World, Pakistan should play the front line role against the ruthlessness, he added but ironically the rulers had become slaves of the Western powers. He criticised the ruling class for adopting a silent policy over the atrocities and said the neglecting attitude of the rulers would lose its importance in the Muslim World. He stressed upon the rulers to exhibit courage, harshly flay the atrocities and raise voice for the Muslims of Syria and Burma. Mufti Izaj also came hard on the negative attitude toward the local tribal of the Frontier Corp (FC) troops (Touchi Scouts) and said that since the day of their posting in Khyber Agency in the name of search, the FC soldiers were humiliating the local tribesmen that need to be halted. The JUI-F, Landi Kotal Ameer, Qari Mujahid, Maulana Tehseenullah, also spoke on the occasion. At the end the protesters while holding banners and placards inscribed in slogans of their favour and chanting slogans marched to the Landi Kotal press club where they dispersed peacefully.
