The Civil Judge & Judicial Magistrate-II, Ratodero, Ahmed Ali Gabol, paid a surprise visit to Rural Health Center (RHC) here on Wednesday and at Garhi Khuda Bux. He found nine doctors absent from their duty in Naundero along with two other employees. These doctors include Medical Superintendent of the RHC Dr.Gul Muhammad Hakro, Dr.IrumSiyal, Dr.SairaKorai, Dr.Nasim, Dr. Hamid Nawaz Shaikh, Dr.Ayaz, Dr.Rakesh, Asif Shaikh and others. He marked them absent in the muster roll and captured photos of the register. After checking attendance register, the judge visited various sections of the RHC and found large number of patients waiting outside ultrasound section. On inquiry the poor patients complained to him that they are waiting since long but doctor has not so far reached on his duty. When he entered the doctor’s room, peon told him that doctor usually arrive on duty at 10.30 am. Absence of doctors has become a routine in rural health centres across Sindh He also visited x-ray room and store where he inquired about the availability of Inj. Anti-Snake Venom (ASV) and Inj. Anti-Rabbies Vaccine (ARV). Incharge store told the judge that 13 injections for Hepatitis B, 15 ARV and 8 ASV injections are available in the store. He expressed his anger on the complaint that despite availability of Inj ARV patients are not being given the required dozes to save their lives and they are referred to Larkana’ Vaccination Center. He inquired about the MS and was told that the incharge MS is on training. Poverty-stricken patients complained to him that doctors reach on their duties very late, medicines are not given to them and they procure the same from outside costing them high and doctors attitude with the patients is extremely rude. The Judge also found large number of 3-wheel chingchi rickshaws parked outside the RHC and at its main entrance and called the police. Finding the judge before them, cops immediately took action and removed the chingchies which have become a menace everywhere in Sindh. Judge said that he will send a detailed report to the District & Sessions Judge, Larkana, about his findings for further action. He found dysfunctional air-conditioner in Garhi Khuda Bux’s store for which he directed to make it functional to save costly drugs. Both the Hospitals are being managed by Integrated Health Services (IHC) under Public-Private Partnership.
