Police on Sunday said two teams of target killers were involved in attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani of Darul Uloom Karachi, a private channel reported. “One team followed his vehicle from Korangi Industrial Area, while the other team of target killers chased his car from Dalmia area,” the investigation team of police said. It said after opening firing on Mufti Taqi Usmani’s car, the target killers fled towards Safoora Chowrangi and vanished. The probe team has decided to do geofencing of Dalmia Road and Rashid Minhas road to locate whereabouts of the attackers. The police and other law-enforcement agencies have reportedly carried out raids on late Friday night in different areas, including Quaidabad, Hussain Hazara Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Orangi Town, North Karachi, PIB Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Dalmia, and arrested more than a dozen suspects.
