Comprehensive system for cleanliness to be introduced

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that a comprehensive system of cleanliness will be introduced in cities and rural areas on the permanent basis under Clean & Green Pakistan campaign. This campaign is a praiseworthy initiative towards a clean and hygienic environment to the people.

In his message issued here on Monday on the start of cleanliness week under Clean & Green Pakistan campaign, Usman Buzdar said that this program depicts the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan adding that all the segments of the society should play their role in this regard. It is sanguine that cleanliness week will be celebrated in hospitals and other medical institutions as well. He said that trees plantation is a social service and keeping in view its importance, students and others should proactively take part in this campaign. In the first phase, he said that Clean & Green Pakistan campaign has been started in 1,000 rural localities of 107 union councils. Tree plantation will be conducted in all the districts through forest department. Meanwhile, a target of planting more than one million saplings has been fixed through local government department in metropolitan cooperation, municipal corporations and rural union councils. One lakh and eleven thousand acres of state land have been retrieved from squatters during the anti-encroachment campaign, added the CM. A land data-bank will be set up for best use of retrieved land. Trees plantation has been started on the recovered land which will be utilized for increasing the forest area in the province, he stated.

On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CPWB) has decided to initiate awareness campaign in far-flung and remote areas of the province. Usman Buzdar said that children are our collective future and the CPWB should create public awareness through a sustained sensitization campaign as comprehensive steps are required to save the children from societal evils. We will make every effort to protect the children’s rights, he added.

One lakh and eleven thousand acres of state land retrieved during the anti-encroachment campaign

In this regard, Chairperson CPWB Ms. Sara Ahmad will visit southern Punjab and in the first leg of her journey, she will visit child protection bureau, SOS children’s village and social welfare department in Multan today (March 19). After it, she will visit DG Khan on March 20th to initiate a public awareness campaign. She will lead an awareness walk besides addressing a local school and the college in Taunsa Sharif.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has congratulated the nation on the successful holding of PSL-4. In a message, he said that peaceful Pakistan has won while the enemies of peace have lost. The efforts of line departments for successful holding the mega event are praiseworthy, he said. In fact, a new history has been written and the enemies of peace have been given a message that the enemy cannot scare them. The passion of Pakistanis is commendable, he said. It is hoped that sports activities will be restored in stadiums now. I am happy to witness the performance of Quetta and Peshawar players. Ehsan Mani has succeeded the PSL-4 with hard work and the whole world has realized that Pakistanis love peace and sports, he added.

Usman Buzdar has taken notice of murder of two doctors in Attock and sought a report from RPO Rawalpindi. Directing to conduct a comprehensive inquiry, he said that criminals should be brought to a court of law soon. Meanwhile, the police have started an investigation by arresting three suspects.
