Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated the modern police mobile khidmat center at Circuit House Multan on Thursday. He also inspected the facilities available in the khidmat center and got his driving license renewed. He said that practical measures are being taken to introduce necessary reforms in the police department. The provision of police mobile khidmat center is a praiseworthy step which will give relief to the citizens and keeping in view its utility, the scope of police mobile khidmat center will be extended to other cities as well. He said that Punjab police will be made a public-friendly institution and the facilities given to Multan will also be provided to all other districts so that people may not have to travel far-off places to get their police-related issues solved. Talking on the occasion, he said that 13 different services, including the issuance of the driving license, will be provided to the citizens at their doorsteps through this mobile center. It is the mission of PTI government to create ease in the lives of the citizens and I am delighted to inaugurate it, he said. Information about the crimes will also be given to police mobile khidmat center where a copy of the FIR will also be available. He said that this center will also be helpful in providing legal guidance about violence against women. This mobile facility will provide valuable services to the citizens at important spots, he said. The Chief Minister said that Punjab police is being reformed on modern lines. It is being equipped with the latest information technology which will facilitate the people besides curbing the crime. He disclosed that implementation on a plan is in progress to change the archaic police culture adding that police should improve its dealing with the general public. The RPO Multan gave a briefing about different facilities provided through police mobile khidmat center. This mobile center will provide facilities to the people at important spots of the city and its monthly movement schedule will also be issued so that people could be facilitated at their doorsteps. Provincial minister for energy Dr. Muhammad Akhtar Malik, Zain Qureshi MNA, assembly members, Commissioner Multan Division and others were also present on the occasion. Delay in development projects will not be tolerated at any cost Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at Circuit House Multan. While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that a new era of development has been started and the unjustified distribution of development funds has been stopped. In accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the development of backward areas has been especially focused by the government. He said that an under-construction bridge between Layyah and Taunsa Sharif will be connected with Shorkot Interchange through a road network. The approval has been granted to set up DG Khan Waste Management Company while the notification of DG Khan Development Authority and Tribal Area Development Authority will be issued soon. Instructions have also been issued to improve the capacity of border military police (BMP) of tribal areas besides giving promotions to the police officials. It has been decided to fill the 533 vacant posts of BMP, he added. He directed to complete the recruitment process in a transparent manner. The Chief Minister also directed to expedite work on development schemes while ensuring the quality of development work. He gave a deadline to complete the Muzaffargarh-DG Khan highway by March 31 and made it clear that further delay will not be tolerated. He said that alternate traffic arrangements, during the construction of roads, should be ensured and the traffic problems of the people of DG Khan arising due to the construction of roads should be solved immediately. He said that under-construction roads in the suburbs of DG Khan should be completed soon and footpaths should also be constructed along the under-construction roads in Taunsa Sharif. Similarly, roads should be carpeted and water drainage arrangements should also be ensured. The Chief Minister directed to complete the Sakhi Sarwar-Ronghan road within six months. He also gave approval to the construction of the road from Head No. 22 of Head Taunsa Barrage to Taunsa Sharif through Hero and Basti Makool and hoped that distance to Taunsa Sharif will be curtailed as a result of the construction of this road connectivity. Similarly, Fort Munro steel bridge should be completed by March 31 and work on DG Khan Northern Bypass should be started soon. The community center will be constructed in DG Khan Officers Club, he said. He also gave approval to the restoration of 75 water supply schemes of DG Khan Division and said that these schemes will be handed to the public health department after their restoration. The up-gradation of DHQ hospital DG Khan should be completed soon and the number of beds be increased in the ICU ward. The walk-in-interview method should be adopted to recruit nurses in the hospitals, he added. He also directed to reserve quota for the tribal area in Ghazi Medical College. The incumbent government has awarded the monthly contract of the mobile health unit in just Rs. three lakh while the same was awarded by the previous government in Rs. 30 lakh, the Chief Minister concluded. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that adoption of steps for protecting the rights of the consumers is the fundamental responsibility of the government. In his message issued here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that protection of rights of the consumers is a priority agenda adding that government is formulating a policy to protect the fundamental rights of the consumers. He reiterated that implementation on the strategy devised for the protection of rights of the consumers will be ensured and no buyer will remain deprived of its legal rights.
