JAMRUD: The Khyber Agency political agent on Friday ordered the release of 19 detainees. Assistant Political Agent of Jamrud Ziaur Rehman Marwat said that Political Agent Khalid Mehmood paid a surprise visit to Jamrud lockup and held hearing of several cases inside the lockup and ordered release 19 people. Assistant Political Agent Ziaur Rehman Marwat said those released had been arrested in cases of petty offence. He also directed the officials to ensure clean drinking water and hygienic food for the inmates. Earlier, the political agent along with the Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) officials visited Jamrud grid station and checked the on-going construction work. He asked contractors to expedite the construction work.
