PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has urged the business community to avail the courtesy for economic improvement under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to strengthen the provincial economic sector. Addressing to the businessmen and traders at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Peshawar on Monday, he said CPEC is a vital project for development of the country. The share of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province was paid so the Trader communities need to invest in the market for making it suitable and available for national and international investors. He said there were less foreign investments in KP due to several reason but efforts will be made for coordination between provincial and federal government to set on table for achieving, mutual beneficial goals. He termed progress in the economy by praising the extra ordinary efforts made by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) lead Political government. He said Federal Government has served real business friendly policies due to which such a big investment would be lend out to Pakistan. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra further said the prudent policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif put the country on path of progress and PMLN will continue to serve the long go national interests. He appreciated the coordination provided by the federal minister to facilitate the provincial government for achieving goals by establishing CPEC in the heart of province to boost the economical condition of the province. The governor said now the atmosphere is conducive for investment in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Business community needs to engage commercial friends from other provinces in order to provide a chance to uphill the economic sector. Kundal Dam: The Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Asad Qaiser was briefed on the progress of Kundal Dan and told that 60 per cent construction work of the Kundal Dam has been completed and reaming project to be completed soon. Asad Qaiser was presiding over the meeting regarding the progress of the small dam’s constructions in the district of Swabi at the provincial assembly conference room here on Monday. Director General small dams Iqbal Khattak, Assistant Additional Commissioner Toppi-Swabi, Waseem Akhter, officials of the irrigation department and notables of the Swabi was also present in the meeting. Asad Qaiser was briefed in the presence of the areas notables by the concern officials that dams including Kundul, Sehree, Atala and Badha dam progress. Kundal dam would be completed in the next six months and Dadha Dam has been tendered while the feasibilities of the dams underway and till May it will be completed with its complete designs. It was told in the meeting that after completing other formalities the designs of the dams would be presented to provincial departmental working party session for approval. Sehri-Atala covered area 3.4 square kms which will provide clean water to population of 1,000, the estimated cost of the dam is Rs1837, an official handout read.
