Sindh Government, on Saturday, submitted reports of joint investigation teams in Sindh High Court (SHC) in cases against notorious Lyari-based gangster, Uzair Baloch; former Fishermen Cooperative Society Chairman, Dr Nisar Morai, and Baldia Town garments factory arson before the court. This was done in a hearing called by a division bench, headed by Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro, with reference to a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, which sought the court to direct the provincial government to make JIT reports in the aforesaid cases public. The bench remarked that the court would decide the matter once its reviews these reports. While the Sindh government argued that no JIT had been formed in the case of Dr Morai, the petitioner told the court that the defendant had issued a notification with reference to the formation of the JIT in this case. Zaidi also requested the court to order the concerned departments to verify these JIT reports. The court then directed the petitioner to submit a copy of the notification and affidavit by March 9.
