Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on Saturday, briefed his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the regional situation in the wake of a terror attack in Pulwama. The foreign minister underscored Pakistan’s willingness to cooperate in the attack’s investigation. He relayed that neither Indian baseless allegations against its neighbour nor its hawkish rhetoric had deterred Pakistan from its policy of constructive engagement. Pakistan had asked India to share any actionable evidence because it strives for a peaceful neighbourhood, the minister maintained while warning that they would retaliate if India attacked. FM Qureshi expressed that he was looking forward to attending the upcoming Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting (CFM) in the UAE, said a press release by the Foreign Office. The Emirati minister for foreign affairs appreciated Pakistan’s take on the issue also reciprocated Qureshi’s enthusiasm, saying that he was also looking forward to meeting him there.
