KARACHI: The city government has launched an Android application, ‘Karachi Price List’, in its drive to control prices across Karachi.
Now, Karachiites can check prices of daily commodities, including fruit, meat, vegetables, poultry and grocery, online before buying them.
The application can be downloaded from Google’s Play Store
Karachi Commissioner, Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, announced another feature of the application, using which citizens could also register their complaints against price hike. Karachi Price also has provisions for Urdu and Sindhi languages along with English.
He maintained that the city administration was asked to ensure that the price lists were displayed in shops and other outlets.
“All deputy commissioners have been directed to make effective measures to properly introduce the application among the masses so that citizens could benefit from it,” he added.
Shallwani claimed that the complaints lodged through the Android application would be immediately acted upon and also advised people to check the official prices before buying commodities.
Prices of fruit, meat, vegetables, poultry, grocery and bakery items would be updated every day for the convenience of application users.
