The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Food department in its massive drive against the adulterated milk in capital discarded 7,200 liters fresh milk near to Islamabad Motorway, the official told. According to the statement issued by the ICT, dozens of trucks from Punjab supplying milk to the capital were checked late night on the spot while entering to Islamabad. The statement added that a total of 13 trucks were inspected in which 7,200 liters milk found adulterated and wasted on the spot. Assistant commissioner Saddar, Saad-Bin-Waqas and Assistant commissioner rural Omar Randhawa along with Deputy Director Food Iqbal Yousaf led the massive drive along with well equipped laboratory technician. The officials told that the owner had been challaned as well as a case had been referred to the concerned magistrate. The dairy farms operating inside the capital are supplying adulterated milk to more than 280 hotels and stalls. As per the food department’s inspection drive in last two months, it was revealed that 52 dairy farms and milk shops are supplying contaminated milk to the capital which is unfit for human health.
