The Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness has started an ‘AmnQalaab’ campaign with the aim to promote tolerance with initial target of 10,000 youth. This was stated by Shaoor Foundation Executive Director Syed Ali Hameed on Friday in a press conference. He revealed that the foundation spent last 1.5 years to properly study this initiative and conducted several trainings related to peace building in universities and religious seminaries. Under the campaign, he added, the foundation managed to hold Pakistan’s first peace fellowship program called, “Salamti Fellowship Program 2018” for 30 individuals from all across Pakistan. He said that the campaign is working all across Pakistan including 14 districts from Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, KPK and AJ&K to promote social peace building and countering violent extremism. Syed Ali further said that Shaoor Foundation has planned to organise National Peace Summit which would include peace talks and panel discussions covering topics like peace, tolerance and inclusivity.
