Pakistan Peoples Party President from Punjab chapter and former federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the opposition isn’t seeking any ‘deal’ from anyone and all such rumors are baseless. Talking to reporters in Lahore after chairing the meeting of Punjab chapter of the party on Monday, Kaira said that the ministers of the government are doing propaganda by giving statements about the deal despite the fact that the government is not in a position to do any deal with the opposition. “The ministers should dare to name the other party of the deal as well who is brokering such an arrangement with the opposition if there is any reality in the issue. The Prime Minister should also tell the nation whether he is in a position to give any sort of NRO to the opposition,” said Kaira and added that the PM is just toothless and cannot give any NRO. Criticizing the PM Imran Khan, Kaira said that he didn’t bother to visit the families of Sahiwal tragedy in his recent visit to Lahore that shows the apathy of the incumbent government towards one of the most tragic incidents of recent times in which innocent people were killed brutally. Kaira also raised questions that why the government is reluctant to form a judicial commission to probe the Sahiwal incident as the PM himself has promised that a judicial commission will be constituted to probe the matter thoroughly but now the government has taken a U-turn. Talking about the ongoing downsizing in the media industry, Kaira, who has also served as federal minister for Information and Broadcasting, said that the government is responsible for such a large scale downsizing in media. “The media workers are being rendered unemployed because of the policies of the government as the PTI’s government wants to control the media,” he said. Imran Khan had sympathies with the same media when he was in the opposition but now he chairs the meetings on daily basis only to suppress the media because it criticizes the government. He was of the view that various points were also discussed in the meeting to organise the party in the whole province and rallies in the whole Punjab including Lahore would be held in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
