For the first time in the history of ex-Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet meeting under the chair of KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan was held at Jirga Hall, Landi Kotal on Thursday. The meeting had been organised in tribal district on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan that was attended by provincial ministers, chief sectary and heads of departments. A total of 16 points agenda had been compiled for the historic meeting. Later on, while briefing the media, Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said that for the first time ever in the history of the provincial cabinet, a meeting was held in merged tribal district in which all important points were discussed thoroughly especially in connection with the former tribal belt. He added that the time line had been formulated for better functioning of educational institutions of ex-tribal districts adding it was decided to resume the destroyed railway track from Peshawar to Torkham. The information minister informed that health policy was also approved in the cabinet meeting and a plan had been chalked out to enhance tourism. A three percent share in NFC Award will be provided to the tribal districts in the upcoming budget, Shaukat Yousafzai maintained. He said that the cabinet decided to make the legislation effective to halt money laundering in the province. The procedure was okayed for recruitment of 17,000 employees in the meeting, he added, saying that the committee was made to safeguard rights of miners and labourers in the province.
