The China Radio International-Millennium Confucius Classroom in collaboration with Chinese Embassy and Chinese Cultural Counselor Office celebrated the Chinese New Year at Roots Millennium Education, Islamabad, according to a press release issued by the institution. Chinese Cultural Counselor You Yi was chief guest on the occasion. First Secretary Pan Yuqi and Director CRI-Confucius Classroom Pakistan Chen Xiang also attended. Students dressed up in alluring Chinese cultural attire embellished with gold ornaments sang welcome song for the guests from the Chinese Embassy. Speaking to the Millennials, the cultural counselor appreciated the efforts put in by the students and faculty for celebrating Chinese New Year. He said that CRI-Millennium Confucius Classroom has taken a laudable initiative which will produce tangible results in future. Chief Operating Officer Anna Faisal said that the cultural exchange program has not only strengthened the relationship between Pakistan and China but also enabled the youth to sustain and transmit the legacy of Pakistan-China friendship. She said that CRI-Millennium Confucius Classroom is a step forward to China-Pakistan Education Corridor. The event highlighted different cultural activities like Chinese paper cutting, calligraphy, Chinese painting, chopsticks use, and dumpling, which is the auspicious symbol of traditional Chinese New Year food. The counselor visited different stalls depicting an inclusive Chinese culture. Director Confucius Classroom Chen Xiang presented Chinese language books for the Millennium Confucius Classroom and China Access Center at The Millennium Universal College Islamabad. He also appreciated the contribution of CRI-Millennium Confucius Classroom towards Chinese cultural exchange programs, saying that people-to-people exchange is key to strengthening the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China. CRI-Millennium Confucius Classroom offers Chinese language classes across Roots Millennium Education in the private sector with an aim to help students get linguistically literate and culturally competent.
