The reliability indicators of K-Electric’s transmission network such as system frequency of interruption and system duration of interruption of K-Electric have shown significant improvement (6% and 31% respectively) in 2016-17 as compared to 2015-16. Moreover, system security indicator also improved by 41% during the reporting period. This was stated in NEPRA’s Annual Performance Report of K-Electric 2016-17. The performance report analyzed parameters such as System duration of interruption, System frequency of interruption as per Performance Standards (Transmission) Rules 2005 today. Further, Transmission & Distribution capacity has been enhanced by around 29% and 63% respectively since 2009 and T&D losses have also brought down from 36% to 20%, along with capacity addition of 1,057 MW to K-Electric’s own generation.
