Marvel dropped a brand new trailer for its upcoming superhero movie ‘Captain Marvel’. The newest trailer shows Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers demonstrating to Nick Fury that she can handle herself amid an impending war. To prove that she is not one of the shape-shifting, villainous Skrulls, Carol Danvers shoots a photon blast to prove to Fury that she is one of the good guys. “I have never seen anything like her,” Fury later says to one of his colleagues. The trailer also references the film’s period setting, the 1990s, as Fury notes to Danvers, “Grunge is a good look on you.” The new trailer also shows off a bit more of Jude Law’s role in the upcoming film as a Kree warrior. Moreover, the minute-long trailer also shows agent Phil Coulson wondering whether there might be other heroes out there like her. “You think you can find others?” Phil Coulson asks Fury. “She’s just the beginning,” Fury replies. Captain Marvel is the first solo female superhero lead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and stars Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson. The film will be co-director by Anna Boden who is the first woman to helm an MCU movie. Set in the 1990s, the events of this film will tie into the ‘Avengers’ sequel set to be released in May this year. ‘Captain Marvel’ stars Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan with Clark Gregg and Jude Law. ‘Captain Marvel’ opens in theatres on March 8, 2019.
