Land of over one dozen government colleges in the metropolis has been encroached and the city authorities plan on launching an anti-encroachment drive in order to raze encroachments in vicinity of colleges during the winter vacations, according to media reports. Reportedly, the encroachments include shops, nurseries and other businesses. According to reports, the encroachers grabbed land and constructed shops along the government college premises in Musa Colony, sports ground of Gulshan-e-Maymar College as well as APWA College in Karimabad and Saudabad College in Malir. It was also reported that a nursery of plants being run at Superior Science College. The authorities have initiated an anti-encroachment drive after the Supreme Court (SC) issued directives pertaining to demolition of illegal structures in the city.
