Ibn Khaldun and Max Weber Part I

When I embarked on my recent study of Islam in Europe, Journey into Europe: Islam, Immigration, and Identity, I saw the need to locate a conceptual frame in which to understand European society. I found it in the work of two great scholars, perhaps one more conventional than the other for the study of Europe: Ibn Khaldun and Max Weber. These two thinkers helped me conceptualize the study and understand modern Europe.
