An official of the Sindh Highway Department has said that the provincial government is spending million of rupees on construction of new roads in Tharparkar. In a statement issued on Friday, the Highway Department official said that besides construction of new road, steps were also being taken to renovate existing roads in the district. He said that Rs 27 million were being spent for construction of a road from Islamkot city to the airport. The official said Rs 35 million were being spent for construction and repair of roads in Nangarparker, Islamkot and Chachro. He further said that roads were being built under District Road Scheme.
