Sindh minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that Sindh Excise and Taxation Department had collected Rs 30213.3 million (m) in various heads during current fiscal year from July 2018 to November 2018. He said that in the same period during last fi\nancial year Rs 24934.6m were collected. This he said while presiding over a meeting in his office.While briefing the meeting, Excise and Taxation director general Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh informed that Rs 3033 m were collected in term of Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 23389 m in term of Infrastructure Cess and Rs 229 m in terms Professional Tax. “During the same timeframe, Rs 124 m were collected in term of cotton fee, Rs 1296 m in property tax , Rs. 26.9 million in Entertainment Duty while remaining amount was collected in heads of various other taxes,” he tod the meeting. Expressing his satisfaction over tax recovery progress,the provincial minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla asked the officers to expedite recovery of the taxes and facilitate the people. He also asked the ET director general to chalk out a comprehensive plan for next Road Checking Camping to nab the tax defaulting vehicles. He appealed to the owners of the tax defaulting vehicles to deposit their due taxes before the launching of next Road Checking Campaign. Excise and Taxation secretary Abdul Rahim Shaikh, director generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh ,Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
