Sir: Importance of water is an undeniable. Water is an uncultivated element and also elementary for sustaining human life. Our country has suffering from deficiency of water. According to Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), we are expecting this water insufficiency till 2025. Our country is one of the 36 most-water stressed countries in the world. More than 80 percent of water in Pakistan is considered unsafe. Available water per capita has dropped from 5,600 to 903 cubic metres as of 2016. With 60 percent of Pakistan’s population linked to agriculture sphere which conducted the 95 percent of Pakistan’s water. In order to heal this dominant, complication launching of dams is dignified initiative for the whole nation. Irony is that, all our existing political leadership and relevant departments showing no constraint because of casual mindedness. Our media is continuously raising this issue since many years, but in vain. Maybe our present government noticed it. MAHRUKH RIZWAN Karachi Published in Daily Times, December 6th 2018.
