ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani has called for Muslim nations in Asia to unite and adopt a collective strategy in wake of the threats and challenges of the changing the world order.
He was speaking to a delegation led by Special Envoy and National Security and Foreign Commission of Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Chairman Allauddin Boroujerdi, who called on him on Thursday at the Parliament House.
The delegation head extended an invitation to the Senate Chairman for participation in the Palestine Conference on behalf of the Iranian Parliament’s Speaker.
Mian Rabbani said that the Palestine Conference, being organised by Iran in the near future, is of utmost importance. He said that Pakistan attaches the highest importance to its historic relations with Iran and is looking forward to further enhancing the traditional ties for better economic and political collaboration through increased parliamentary linkages between the two countries.
Rabbani also noted that Pakistan and Iran have always cooperated with each other at international forums and have adopted a unified stance on different issues.
He said that the Muslim Ummah should come forward and take concrete measures to ensure that the resources of the Muslim world are no more exploited and that there is a collective response to aggressive designs.
The chairman assured Pakistan’s full cooperation to Iran in supporting the Palestine cause by organising an international conference to this effect and promised that he would make all out efforts to ensure his participation in the event.
